FRIDAY JUNE 3, 2005

YOUNG FILMMAKERS DAY
at Ocean City High School (5th & Atlantic Avenues)
Free-No ticket required for morning or afternoon sessions
9:30am to 11:45am
Morning session: New Make-up Techniques for High Definition Television
An eye opening examination of the latest HDTV make up and lighting
techniques. Professional make-up artist and Emmy honoree, Marianne Skiba,
a.k.a the "High Definition Diva" will also explain and demonstrate the
critical differences between make up for standard television and high
definition television.
1:30pm to 5:00pm
Afternoon Session: Working with Actors
An incisive exploration of the unique relationship between an actor and the
camera. A hands-on experience where students actively participate under the
guidance of an experienced director and acting coach.
6:00pm to 10pm Tickets $100.00pp
OPENING NIGHT FUNDRAISING GALA "Oscar Style" at The Flanders Hotel(11th and
the Boardwalk OC)
The Highlight of the festival, a lavish cocktail reception, dinner and
dancing. The gala starts with cocktails at 6:00 and dinner at 7:00, followed by an Award Presentation where a prominent New Jersey
film artist is recognized for their outstanding contribution to film and our
cultural heritage.
Afterward, enjoy a screening of "Ocean City" a warm-hearted comedy filmed
in Ocean City, Wildwood and Ventnor, NJ. Director Avi Gijansky will be
present for Q&A following the screening.

Festival of Independent Shorts
Memorable New Jersey Independent Features and Shorts with filmmaker Q&A
after screenings
Six hours of amazing NJ Short films, including selected works from:
10-12:00 *NJSFF Young Filmmakers Workshop
Five films made by teenage South Jersey filmmakers.
*Chicks with Flicks Film Festival curated by Yhane
Washington.
For the past three years, New Jersey filmmaker Yhane
Washington has brought selected films made by minority
women filmmakers.
1:30-5:00 *The Black Maria Film Festival curated by John Columbus.
John Columbus is the founder and director of the revered
Black Maria Film Festival-the oldest in New Jersey and one of the
premier short film festivals in the country.
Each year John offers award-winning shorts made by
New Jersey filmmakers.
There will be filmmaker Q&A periods throughout this program.

Tickets: $20.00 per person
An opportunity to enjoy a wonderful brunch and discuss the movies shown at
this year's Festival with other film lovers and with the filmmakers whose
films has been shown. The Festival Director selects a few outstanding films
submitted this year for screening and the opportunity to speak informally
with the films' directors in a Q&A.
